1. Who we are
10 words (TenWords) operates the website 10-words.app and the 10 words mobile app. Contact for privacy matters: support@tenwords.app.
2. What data we collect
To provide the service we may process:
- Account data: email, first name, last name, date of birth (if you provide them)
- Learning data: language preferences, CEFR level, word history, quiz and exam results, streaks
- Device token for push notifications (if you enable them)
- Technical logs needed to run the website and API (e.g. IP address, browser or app type)
3. Why we process data
We use this data to sign you in, deliver daily word packs, track progress, unlock the weekly exam, send reminders you opted into, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.
4. Legal basis
Processing is based on performing the contract for the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), your consent where required (e.g. push notifications), and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website and API (Art. 6(1)(f)).
5. How long we keep data
We keep account and learning data while your account is active. After you delete your account we delete or anonymise personal data unless the law requires a longer retention. Hosting and security logs are kept only as long as needed to operate the service.
6. Processors
We use trusted processors to run the product, including Firebase / Google (authentication, hosting) and Google Cloud (API). They process data only on our instructions.
7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Poland: UODO). You can also delete your account in the app settings.
